Our Youth Training Automotive Work Placement Training Course is a FREE full time course. The focus of the course is to prepare young people for employment or Polytechnic Entry courses into the automotive industry.
Prerequisites:
Positive attitude to working and learning with the ambition to succeed in the automotive industry. A neat and tidy appearance, as learners will be working in a real work environment dealing with the work experience employer's staff and customers. Holding a Restricted or Full driver's licence is a real advantage.
Features:
- The first four to six weeks of the course is spent on orientation and assessing trainees in a range of theory and practical tasks, all trainees work on unit standards that contribute to National Certificate in Motor Industry (Foundation Skills) - (Level 1).
- After this trial we will ascertain the trainee's suitability for their chosen career chose or if they are ready to go into work experience.
- Trainees that require extra assistance to become work ready will be given the time, support and the tuition to assist them to reach their goals of entering into work experience in the career they are suited to. Extra literacy and numeracy support can be provided for those students who require it.
- This is a work place learning course where trainees go out into a work place for up to four days per week, to learn on job, in a real work situation. This will give learners an insight into their suitability for the everyday routine & skills required of their particular career choice. Safety boots and overalls are provided.
- While on work experience the learner's placement will be monitored and supported to ensure that the placement is working well for all parties concerned and to ensure that the trainee receives the optimum benefit from their placement.
- Trainees from this course may go into them into further training with other training providers or onto a Polytechnic course, if they have the ability and desire. Gain full time or part time employment, some may enter into apprenticeships if they create their own opportunity and work to their potential.
