Not content to let the likes of Honda, Renault and Volkswagen steal the limelight with new hot hatches, Ford has readied a major update to its Focus RS.
YouTube sensation and rally star Ken Block revealed the revised Ford Focus RS Limited Edition to a group of owners and enthusiasts online.
The car features a front limited slip differential to give the car additional traction, as well as a host of carbon fibre interior elements to lift the cabin's appeal. On the outside, the car is now available with new race red paint, while forged wheels and sticky tyres currently available as an option are fitted as standard. The hatchback's roof, rear spoiler and mirrors now feature black paint.
Ford followed Focus RS enthusiast conversations on blogs, forums and Facebook groups, which helped inspire the new 2018 limited-edition Focus RS.
Power remains constant at 257kW and 440Nm, though Ford's Mountune friends can remedy that with a host of aftermarket upgrades.
Ford says 1500 examples of the car will be sold in the US and Canada, giving the blue oval fresh metal to tackle the likes of Honda's new Civic Type R.
Ford has launched a limited-edition upgrade for the Focus RS.
Chances of the car reaching New Zealand appear slim, with a company spokesperson saying they are "actively investigating the opportunity for New Zealand, however at this time it's not confirmed for us".
